Lighting up Kui Ching’s Proposal!

Lighting up Kui Ching’s Proposal!

Around 85%+ of our bookings are weddings, and it is always so wonderful to be able to play a part in the celebrations of such a special day in people’s lives… and provide some terrific pyrotechnic memories for the happy couple and their guests. Each and every wedding shoot is unique, and it is always a buzz to see the faces of people and hear their whoops of delight as we shoot their very own ‘tailor-made’ firework display. The joy for La-on and I… and the super people that make up our shoot teams… never fades… despite shooting literally thousands of displays over the last 9+ years! However… proposals are a different kettle of fish altogether! (more…)

A home from home for Pyro-Maniacs!

A home from home for Pyro-Maniacs!

Marc and Floor are professional pyrofreaks and there is not much they don’t know about fireworks. They have been here to visit us on Samui numerous times over the years for ‘firework holidays’, but this year decided to come out at New Year to do the job properly! ha ha.

This – would you believe – is a photo of their personal firework stash for New Year’s Eve!!!

marc - floor - NYE 2015They started shooting early at around 6pm on New Year’s Eve, and delighted the locals on Maenam beach by giving them their very own firework fun night which continued till way past midnight.

This has to be one of the best ‘Personal Firework Stash’ photos EVER!!!

Obviously both Marc and Floor are experienced pyro-professionals, otherwise we would never have sold either the amount, or the types of fireworks they are showing.

The Firework Shop is proud to be so well known among European pyro-professionals (particularly Dutch and German)… all members of the world’s biggest firework website… www.freakpyromaniacs.com.

We are also proud to be a ‘home from home’ for any other stray pyromaniacs out there! lol

HAPPY NEW YEAR guys… great to see you again… see you next year!? ha ha

Chuffed! :)

Chuffed! :)

Just had a lovely email from the GM at Silavadee. The wind on NYE at Silavadee was onshore, and we felt that it was strong enough to be a potential risk for 2 of fan-shaped 250 shot cakes that were part of the display package… so we decided not to use them (they were a relatively small part of the overal package, so not a huge loss… compared to the potential risk they presented). We sent an ammended invoice to Silavadee taking into account the fact that the 2 cakes were not used, and shortly afterwards received a lovely email from the G.M. – part of which is reproduced below;

Thank you kindly for your email. The fireworks were a great success and the timing was perfect … Although the discount was not necessary it is very much appreciated and shows testament as to why Silavadee choose to work with you continually due to your honesty and ease of cooperation.

What a great commendation to get from a world award winning resort! (Puffs chest out with pride lol).
We may not be perfect, but that will never stop us from trying to be so.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! from Koh Samui

HAPPY NEW YEAR! from Koh Samui

We are all just about recovering from all of the work on New Year’s Eve… 13 deliveries around the island… by the time the shoots had all finished, and the equipment etc collected and returned to the shop (we ended up with 6 pick up trucks whizzing around the island… most needing to do multiple pick ups) it was close to 6 am and dawn was already breaking. The staff were amazing… many of them returning in the early afternoon of the 1st Jan. to finish up sorting and cleaning the hundreds of fibre mortar tubes we had used. The spent firework cake boxes were all checked for any shells that hadn’t lifted, before being prepared for pick up by the recyclers. All of the remote systems worked exactly as they should have, ensuring that at every venues, when the countdown hit ‘Zero’… they got the fireworks they were looking forward to… yay.

We have promised ourselves to concentrate on only a few shoots for next New Year’s Eve… but we did the same last year… and STILL ended up with 13 venues!!! Oh well… time will tell. (more…)
